Oncology & Hereditary Cancer Genetic Testing

Compare hereditary cancer genetic tests by specimen, turnaround time and USD price, with counselor-verified booking and medically reviewed guidance.

Hereditary cancer testing is considered when a personal or family history suggests an inherited predisposition — for example early-onset or multiple related cancers in a family. Test selection should follow established clinical criteria, and every booking on this site is reviewed by a genetic counselor against the referring clinician's note.

This hub organises our hereditary cancer assays into condition-level clusters. Each cluster page compares the relevant assays side by side — specimen requirements, turnaround time and pricing in USD — so you and your clinician can shortlist the right starting point.

Frequently asked about Oncology & Hereditary Cancer

How do I choose between single-gene and multi-gene cancer panels? ▾

When a personal or family history points to one syndrome, single-gene or focused testing is usually first line. Multi-gene panels fit when the history is broad or several syndromes are possible. A genetic counselor reviews your history before booking to confirm the right starting point.

Do I need a referral or prescription for hereditary cancer testing? ▾

A clinician's order is required for most hereditary cancer assays. Upload the prescription with your enquiry and our counselor coordinates the rest with your care team.

Will insurance cover hereditary cancer genetic testing? ▾

Many private plans, Medicare and Medicaid cover testing that meets medical-necessity criteria. We provide CPT codes and a medical-necessity letter for pre-authorization, and self-pay by card or HSA/FSA is always available.

Not sure which test fits the clinical question?

A GGC DNA genetic counselor reviews the case and prescription before booking — free pre-test guidance.
