Pharmacogenomics

Medication Response & Drug Metabolism Testing

Compare pharmacogenomic panel options by specimen, turnaround time and USD price, with counselor-verified booking and prescriber-ready reporting.

This cluster covers pharmacogenomic panels used to support prescribing decisions. Testing is usually considered when a medication has a known gene–drug interaction or when prior adverse effects raise a question; reports are written for prescribers and reviewed with a counselor before release.

Clinical FAQ

Collection kits ship after your booking is verified. A blood draw of about 2 mL in an EDTA tube is standard; buccal swab collection is available for some assays. Keep the tube at the temperature listed on the kit insert and return it with the prepaid courier. If collection looks difficult, contact us first so we can plan the right tube and volume.

Coverage varies by plan and indication. On request we provide the test name, CPT codes and a medical-necessity letter so your insurer or employer can complete pre-authorization before collection. Final coverage decisions rest with your payer.

CPT codes depend on the assay and any add-on analysis for pharmacogenomic testing; the exact code set appears on your quote and lab requisition. Ask your counselor for the codes before submission so claims are not rejected.

Genetic counseling is recommended — and required before some assays — so the limitations and possible outcomes are understood before collection. A GGC DNA counselor reviews every booking and can join your clinician consult on request.
